The Huntress
I still remember the day we decided Grace was the kitten we wanted. My Mom and I had just walked into the room with the kittens and all of them scattered except her. I sat on the floor and she crawled into my lap. That’s when we knew then she was the one for us. I also remember the day the my sisters named her. You see her name isn’t just Grace, it’s Princess Grace. I would have just said Grace, but it was better than Diamond Sapphire so I didn’t complain too much. We all just call her Grace though.
First thing you need to know is all the two cats I have had in my lifetime have been so much like dogs with some things. For one thing car rides are easy for Grace unless you take her to vet...we never speak of that. She also follows us when we walk to the movie theater then proceeds to wait so she can walk us home. That shocked me!
Second thing is that Grace is a natural born huntress...which also shocked me. You see our old cat, Athena, had been adopted by people who would table fed her so hunting wasn’t one of her traits. She would basically look at a mouse, then look at you as if to say, “Well aren’t you going to get rid of that?!”. Yeah...she was something. Anyways, Grace is a very good huntress. In fact her main goal in life is to catch a hummingbird...yes you read that right a hummingbird. Mom says that she is never going to catch one but that cat is determined! She will stand under the feeder waiting for one, same with the bird houses. I’m telling you one day she is going to catch one, and then she needs to earn a medal! I mean that’s hard work people! Yeah like you should be doing instead of being lazy. Shut up!! And I actually did really well today thank you very much! Excuse my inner critic. Anywho I should probably wrap this up. Au Revoir! Oh did I say that in French? Must be my new glasses I just got imported from France. Girl you really shouldn’t exploit that, it’s not healthy. Shut up!!
Nice story! I like your use of point-counterpoint:)
